How

Who we are

Carlos Pires e Albuquerque has spent over 25 years helping telecommunications and technology companies set up their operations and grow their businesses in the region. He has significant experience in defining strategy, advising on scaling businesses, taxation, and regulatory issues, and establishing key local partnerships in both Brazil and Latin America. 


He has been a partner at Atomico since 2008 where he helps both local and overseas companies establish and strengthen their presence. His portfolio includes, Gympass, Truecaller, Pipedrive, Connect Parts e Lime, among many others.


Prior to joining Atomico in 2008, Carlos helped companies such as Skype, Openwave Systems, Iona Technologies, and Nextel to initiate and consolidate their business in the region. During his time at Skype from 2004 to 2008, Carlos served as its Head of Latin America, helping to launch consumer services that grew Skype’s revenue exponentially. Carlos is also an active supporter of Human Rights Watch in Brazil, where he serves as a board member.

Ferran Brichs brings with him over 20 years of experience in the telecoms, media and tech space. Ferran is a recognized sales and business development leader and has successfully grown early-stage companies across a wide variety of products and markets including the US, Spain and Latin America.

During his career, he held various roles at Itson, Rdio, Wuaki.tv, Bytemobile, Payfone, Openwave, and Netscape where he helped with their international expansion and market acceleration. Setting up their operations and grow their business, defining strategy, innovating compelling offerings, setting up the sales operations, finding product/market fit, creating massive go-to-market strategies, optimizing viability, and establishing key local partnerships. 

Ferran started his career as a software engineer and consultant with Oracle. 

He speaks Catalan, Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
